Our Net Controller group operates under the EOK / NWAR SKYWARN umbrella and welcomes individuals who want to contribute!

EOK / NWAR Net controllers staff the HAM desk at the NWS office in Tulsa and work next to the meteorologists who issue warnings. The net controller's primary job is to relay severe weather reports from the field to the meteorologists and provide information such as NWS warnings and updates on storms back to the field. We usually operate with 2 to 3 individuals with a primary controller for both the UHF and VHF systems and a person who logs incoming reports. The positions frequently rotate during events so that everyone gets training in all the functions required.
